I know I run the risk of this becoming an ornithology blog, but I like to point it out when I actually recognize birds that are around. In Kansas at home it was - Blue Jay, Robin, Barn Swallow, Turkey Buzzard. The last few days I've spotted more Eastern Towhees and Brown Thrashers. The towhees are inquisitive like their sparrow friends and the thrashers like to hide out, but have come out to the neighbor's birdfeeders a lot lately.

So,

I'm back and running almost to normal. I've been on the trails a lot, and have been reacquainting myself with Umstead. It's started to get really muggy and hot lately and I need to make sure I take care to adequately hydrate and replenish minerals and such. I'm starting lug around the handheld bottle again (which I hate) with some NUUN and some S!Caps in the pocket to take care of my Mg and Na requirements. I plan on being up over 80 miles this week and then back to the 100s after that, I really want to go nuts on mileage this summer, but the southern summer is not going to make it easy.

Race Schedule as of now:

Inside Out Sports Classic 1/2 Marathon - 5/16
Boogie Marathon - 6/12
Alert Road Race 30k - 6/19

And I'd like to find a cool trail race somewhere.
