Kansas with Birds

This weekend I was back in my favorite place for a few days.

My brother got married and I got to hang around the farm and pretend to be a rural person again.  I managed to get in a few good runs out in the boonies and to go for a run in the ol' K-State stomping grounds with Kory.
Other than my little bro getting married to a great person, the best part of the trip was the bird watching.  I know that sounds lame, but watching for birds while running is great, and not nearly as boring as driving around watching for birds.

My hypothesis is that - as my "neighborhood" has continued to decline and decompose (at least for human residents) the birds have come back.  There isn't much to get in the way out there.  Here's what I saw:
Bald Eagle

Red Tailed Hawk

Dickcissel

Killdeer

Baltimore Oriole

Western Meadowlark
Northern Bobwhite (Quail)

Redheaded woodpecker

Scissortail Flycatcher

Eastern Kingbird
