So I DNF'd at the Boogie in Ellerbe, NC this Saturday. Despite being well warned, the course was amazingly brutal. I don't mind dropping out of a long race, sometimes that just happens, but what was a real kick in the junk was dropping out while leading and after holding course record pace for a long time. But that's what 96 degree weather, 80% humidity and a few trips up a 2.5 mile hill will do to you most of the time I guess. Anyway, hats off to the guy who ended up winning it, he was a trooper, and tried to get me to keep going, when he went by, even though I knew I was toast. I have to go back to this place though, It was an amazing event.
