Another Umstead run

I've really got to find a new park.  Oh, well - it was about 85 degrees this afternoon when I got out to the hallowed trails.  I just doused the buff in any creek I was near to cool off and pulled it up over my head when I got out in the sun.  I'm feeling pretty good now.  I ran around 23 miles.  The only wildlife I encountered was a 4.5-5 foot long black rat snake (the biggest I've seen).  I spent all day yesterday at the Convoy of Hope, an event that tries to give some stuff (groceries, haircuts, info and such) to people who need some help.  It was cool to see people doing some good, but I got roasted out there.  I'm glad I could still put one foot in front of the other today.

A couple hours ago I was surfing www.marathonguide.com and came across "the Boogie Marathon" in Ellerbe, NC.  It starts at 6 p.m. on a Saturday and has no mile markers, or course officials and only cost me 15 bucks to enter.  So I'll see you in the middle of NC in a few weeks, bring your headlamp.
