I've had little to post about lately, and do not currently. I will still post though - my Mom needs to check up on me.

I've been battling a nagging injury the last month or so - the tibialis anterior tendon near the junction of the foot and the ankle keeps swelling up after a lot of running. Currently I've kept it at bay with some superfeet insoles (I hate admitting that) that keep me from pronating on that foot too much. I did a nice 19 miler a few days ago without much trouble, so things are looking ok.

I still plan on running Grandma's Marathon in June, and need to get serious about training, as it's almost exactly 3 months away. I feel 3 months is a good amount of time to get ready for a marathon, much longer than that just gives you the chance to get tired, hurt or just straight up bored with the training. I'm very confident that I can get a trials qualifier, but it's a lot of work just to show up on the starting line for a full marathon.

I'm running with the Capital Fitness team at the Athlete's Foot here in Raleigh, training with some NCSU former all-americans, and that's really helped me out. I've gotten good at training alone, but getting out and training with people that are above your ability level raises the bar and helps you keep some perspective. This is good, because I'm prone to periods of extreme overconfidence followed by extreme lack of self-esteem. If I'm just out there cranking and getting faster, I've got a goal to pursue and not just local notoriety.
