Two posts in two days! I'm able to hop on someone's connection nearby, so I'm all over this internet. It's been strangely cold and windy in Raleigh the last several weeks, about 15 degrees below normal and windier than I've seen the whole time I've been here. Today I stumbled the usual route, but decided to add a short section of my favorite hiking trail in the park - the Sycamore Trail. This section is double track (I guess that's what it's called) and is soft and covered with pine needles. It was probably only a 5 minute excursion, but it was really nice to break up the monotonous morning 14.

About an hour in I was getting really weak and hungry, something that usually doesn't set in until twenty minutes later. I guess I need to up my caloric intake and probably keep an eye on my body weight, though my vessel seems to be pretty resilient. I snarfed a gel that I'm really glad I brought along and kept chugging away. My knee was a little tight, but it still hasn't given me much trouble for a while. I'm also pumped to break out the new Brooks flats on a longer run soon. Check these puppies out:

Hideous, I think, but they are pretty awesome doing the shoe thing, despite the strange looks.
