Miles

I am switching my long run from Sunday to Saturday now, it gives me more rest time on Sunday, and allows me to meet up with whoever's around on Saturday.  This Saturday I started out extra early, carrying a couple water bottles and gel and a powerbar.  As well as a stupid headlamp, because it was 4:45 a.m.  I ran the first few miles heading toward Umstead before I realized my crappy headlamp would not help me much on trails, so I stayed on the Greenway.  At the bridge over the beltline I was blockaded by an 8 foot fence.  Apparently the trail is closed at that hour.  I scaled it slowly, catching my shorts on the top while nearly toppling into the freeway below (not really, but it sounds more exciting that way)  I made my way through the darkness to the trails, and groped my way along as the sun slowly rose.  About 2 hours in, I met up with Coach Brian and Aaron from St. David's and some RRO guys.  We ran down the Turkey Creek trail and then back to Glenwood.  I then slogged back through some trails as traffic increased at the park.  In all I ran 31 miles, and I feel good.
